After graduating from SUNY Oneonta with a Psychology and Art degree, I was hired as an Art Therapy Assistant where I created art programs and painted wall murals for a school with developmentally challenged adults. Budgets were cut, which led to me losing that job. I volunteered to finish the wall mural because it was something that the individuals I worked with were extremely proud of. So much so, that a selective mute began to talk because of one of my programs! Unfortunately, with budget cuts, the arts usually take the hit regardless of their undeniable importance.
I shook it off and decided to become a Massage Therapist in Sarasota, Florida. I opened my own practice and absolutely loved it! From there, I decided to broaden my scope with more education. While attending premedical school, I fell ill to breast cancer. The illness forced me to move to upstate NY with family. My life then began to rip at the seems. I lost everything. However, I still had a strong work ethic and decided to build on my God given strengths.
I began reading, writing and developing skill sets I could enhance on my own while I was stuck in a hospital bed hooked to chemo. I gave my medical plan over to doctors while I began helping people with their businesses, editing websites, creating content, and sharing my story through social media venues. I have always had a knack for writing and seeing the gaps in other peoples businesses. This sparked a new path of writing and helping others with their own entrepreneurial and/or creative endeavors. I love cottage industry and supporting fellow creatives check out the Literary Boutique designed for readers and writers like you!
